There are multiple species of mosquitoes and ticks that reside in Wisconsin. Some of them reside in our own backyards. These insects unfortunately spread dangerous diseases such as Zika, West Nile, Malaria, Dengue, and Lyme just to name a few. The bite from a mosquito can be painful, irritating, and extremely itchy. In some cases, people develop large bumps and welts. Most ticks are not easily visible, and they go undetected on our children and pets. Unlike mosquitoes, ticks cannot jump or fly, instead they hang out on blades of grass or leaves and wait for something to pick them up. The dangers from mosquitoes and ticks are well documented throughout Wisconsin.
Depending on the applications and services that you choose, we will walk your yard looking for standing water and other areas where mosquitoes and ticks breed. We will look for other pests that live in your landscape as well. We will pick up any toys left behind by your pet or children before we start our application.
We will typically spray two products on your shrubs, trees, and landscape. One product is used to control the population of adult mosquitoes and ticks. The other product is used to prevent mosquitoes in the early development stages from developing into adults and reproducing. All of the mosquitoes and ticks that cross our application path will be eliminated. You will notice a reduction of mosquitoes and ticks in your yard within a few hours. You will notice a huge difference in a day. If you typically have issues with wasps, you will notice that they have been taken care of by our application spray as well.
We will treat all standing water with an insect growth regulator.
All our products are safe for children and pets once they are dry. All people and pets should stay off the application area until the area is dry. An application is typically dry within 60 minutes. With children and pets of our own, we will not spray anything on your house or lawn that we wouldn’t spray on ours.
For the application to work, the mosquitoes must interact with the chemical. We can only control the mosquitoes that come from your yard. You should see a 90% reduction within a few days. As time goes on, fewer and fewer mosquitoes will hatch due to the use of our insect growth regulator. Mosquitoes do not typically fly for long distances before they land to rest. If they land in your shrubs or trees, they will eventually die. If they fly from your neighbor’s yard without stopping, you could still get bit. If all your neighbors practice mosquito and tick control, it will be hard for them to find a way back into your yard. (Note – The more trees you have, the more effective the application is.)
